The love of music & teaching

Hello. My name is Wendy Sudbury. I have been playing the piano from the age of eight and have taught piano to the very young and very old and all the ages in between! I have a DipABRSM in piano performance which is a professional qualification completed after grade 8 or the ARSM.

As well as teaching the piano, I also have a PGCE in primary education and experience as a supply teacher (so I am DBS checked) covering KS1 through to KS3. In addition to this, I have worked for language teaching companies teaching French to KS2 in primary schools and English to foreign students.

In my spare time I enjoy playing keytar and singing in a covers band. You can find us on Instagram @s4tw.band

We play in pubs and at festivals and are available for hire to play at weddings and parties.

Tailored piano lessons

Choosing and discussing repertoire with the pupil is important. I want you to enjoy the pieces you play!

Whether you chose to take exams or not, developing good technique and general musicianship is done in every lesson. This will make you a more confident and well-rounded musician and pianist. Also, I find that having a variety of activities (aural training, finger exercises, sight-reading practice etc.) helps maintain interest and concentration during the lesson rather than spending the whole lesson looking at one or two pieces of music.
